This is the problem with Christianity alright, however I don’t think Christianity or church, equals God. I see your protest against hypocritical Christianity, but then again this is kind of a moving goal post objection, since any system can be abused and we have perfect examples, including atheism and its regimes.
However you are entitled to you opinion and you can disagree with full force but I would not expect straw men arguments, since the implication of hypocritical Christians have zero bearing on the teaching of Christ. Stereotyping is bad. Even in this argument it can back fire. What I would really like to see is honest criticism on theism, if you would like to, of course and if you do not, then I believe you should.
have a nice day.

Cheers John – thanks for your thoughtful response.
This post is a quote from my satirical novel and from a female point of view appears fully justified. Last time I looked the Pope was still doing his stuff. Christian churches in my area are telling their members they can do miracles and I have to expose this as a sham and scam
As for an “honest criticism” I’d say the arguments against Christian practice are highly relevant as that is all there is to go on. There’s plenty of documented history of the Roman Catholic Church to review and no evidence of God. I could repeat all the intellectual arguments marshalled by Prof Dawkins but those with “faith” will hardly change their minds due to logic and rationality.
You might say – ‘I’m not that type of Christian’ – but you surely believe something similar.
I’m quite happy to acknowledge the good teachings of Jesus on some issues, however there is no historical evidence for his existence and countless bad deeds have been done by those claiming to follow his ideas. It seems to me that all the monotheistic religions provide ideological support for male rulers, hence common religious terms like “Lord” and “Commandments” and the notions of heaven and hell. By the way, do you believe in these places?
None of the above evidence supports the idea of a religion of love.
Perhaps you can enlighten me?
I wish you a nice day and look forward to chatting again.
