Work will set you free…

the void

David Cameron yesterday used the Paralympics Opening Ceremony as an opportunity to spout crass propaganda for the toff Government’s ruthless disability benefit cutting regime.

Speaking to Channel 4, Cameron said:  “It’s about the inspiration and it will change people’s minds and that’s what matters. It’ll teach people about what they can do, rather than what they can’t do.”

This is the exact same line that has been used to strip benefits from hundreds of thousands of disabled people.  Here’s a DWP spokesperson saying the same thing in the Daily Express to justify the Work Capability Assessment, the brutal computer based tests used to declare sick and disabled people fit for work:  “We’re overhauling the whole system of incapacity benefits to place the emphasis on what work people can do, not what they can’t”

  1. Sigh, yes, Arbeit Macht Frei, the Conservative mindset at work. I knew they would use these Paralympics as a means to attack the not so super sporty sick and disabled.

    • Abso – how are you mate? I am in a tramadol trance at mo – couldn’t sleep much and got up at 2.30, did some silly writing then went back to bed at 5.30. Dustmen woke me at 7.30 and here I am 😉

It’s kind of a strange light headedness at the moment, thinking of all the stuff I should be doing today. I shouldn’t really think of it and just do it. Haha.

Yeah, I think I have used that line before, seems to be apt.

Oh no, I understand that bad nights sleep thing, hope tonight brings you a better night.

  2. For some reason, I often find your comments spammed out by the software but I regularly check so it’s okay. I could go to bed, but then tonight will be the same.
