Making the Future Female

A short documentary made by Aljazeera showing the human cost of the housing crisis on America’s poor – mostly black and brown families who were conned into subprime mortgages and renters who come home to find the locks have been changed and they’re homeless.

This powerful little film follows social activists who are trying to fight back and clean up some empty properties to rehouse the millions without a roof over their heads.

As the social activist said, “We could have bailed out the banks or the people – but we bailed out the banks…”

It should be upsetting to see folk lose their homes, but the rich don’t care, and Obama didn’t care enough to actually do anything.

But this is the future for the UK, Spain, Italy and the rest of Europe and much of the world if we don’t change the system – it’s time to wake up from the nightmare of the American Dream…

  3. The actions of the financial system will put the world into dyer times. We will not know the true extent for years to come but one thing is certain and that is we have now got to drastically change how we opporate as a people. I fear what is to come if we do not regain our senses and realize the old days are gone and a new reality has to take form.

    • Yes mate – I think we can see what is wrong, but there are formidable interest groups working hard to prevent positive change. It’s up to us to make a better future – now 🙂

      • The people in Greece are seeing it and the people of the US are also starting to ask questions. the actions of the elite are harder to hide when the masses are not subdued and complacent.
They broke the system and now the people can not afford what they are selling. it is an interesting and sad time my friend.

      • Morning!
Yes – it’s a kind of Wizard of Oz moment but if we can see that then those trying to control us see it too. The challenge now is for enough people to withdraw their support for this failed system and work towards a new way of living. The elites have built up the so-called security forces most everywhere and will try to divide and conquer us. As you say with nice understatement, ‘interesting and sad’ times but also a massive opportunity…
